Atmosphere Optics, Spectroscopy and Lasers Laboratory  LOA-SL

The Master of Optics and Optometry was established at the Faculty of Physics in 2018 benefiting from a state-of-the-art research infrastructure in the field of Optical Spectroscopy, Lasers, Plasma Physics, Materials Science and the reputation of some researchers, professors from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi but also from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy UMF Iasi.

The master's degree is enjoying an ever-increasing demand, especially from the private sector, which not only absorbs the workforce trained here but is directly interested in perfecting its own employees. The study program and the existing research resource, the international partnerships (Professor Adrian Podoleanu; Lecturer George Amarandei, etc.) facilitate the graduates the opportunity to continue their research in the Doctoral School of the Faculty of Physics. Thus, some of the students in the Master of Optometry have already become PhDs in Physics or are PhD students in the field of Laser Spectroscopy.

The master's degree is addressed to those who have graduated from either a Faculty of Engineering (Polytechnic), Medicine, Physics or Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, etc. - or to other graduates of faculties with similar / complementary profiles who wish to expand training area, professional area.

The program of the Master of Optics and Optometry contains courses such as: Materials for Applied Optics and Ophthalmology; Non-invasive Diagnostic and Treatment Techniques; Basics of Geometrical Optics. Optical Instruments; Fundaments of the Eye Anatomy and Physiological Optics; Optical Properties of the Materials; Physical Analysis of Biological Systems; Magnetic Resonance Imaging; Medical Equipment for Optometry; Ocular Imaging; The study of Eye Diseases.

Optional courses: Computerized Systems Resources for Optometry; Visual Data Processing and Management; Devices and Equipment in Medical Physicist Practice; Optical Methods for the Study of the Surface and Thin Films

What does the admission file contain: Bachelor's Degree, Baccalaureate Diploma, CV and letter of intent / motivation.

For the year 2022, Admission to the Master of Optics and Optometry, the July session has the following data: 11 - 16 July 2022: registration (in physical and online format); July 18 - 23, 2022: selection of candidates and display of results
